On the Hillside – Sharing the Journey – What did you Learn – September Newsletter.

Mark 6:34 (NASEC):  When Jesus went ashore, He saw a large crowd, and He felt compassion for them because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and He began to teach them many things.

Fall Greetings,

Things are slowly coming to life after ‘lockdown’ here in Alaska, but there are still plenty of false starts as people anticipate normality…but where is normal?  It is in the Bible, and we have great opportunity to share the love of God to a hurting world. Check out our attached newsletter!

We think that hockey for Caleb, Ben, and Gabe will happen this year, but we still have to wait for ice, so we will see and prepare with a hockey swap this week.

KCAM will have our annual Sharathon and open house next Tuesday – Thursday, September 29 – October 1.  We are looking forward to this time of celebration with and for our listeners. We received a grant to purchase some new computers for our offices and studios and I am eager to start working on building them and replacing older systems when the parts arrive.

Thank you for sharing in and participating with this ministry.  Thank you for sharing your prayers and praises that you want us to partner in.  We love to hear from you, too!  Enjoy reading the newsletter.

In His service and hands,

Scott and Sarabeth Hill and family

On the Hillside – Sharing the Journey – What are you Doing – March Newsletter.

Colossians 3:23-24 (nasb) – Whatever you do, do your work heartily,
as for the Lord rather than for men,
knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance.

“hunker down” Greetings,

So…what are you doing while you “hunker down”? Well, here is something to lighten your day and find out what God IS doing, check out our attached newsletter!

As we home school and work in a ‘critical’ service ministry…nothing much has changed to our “self-quarantined” family here in rural Alaska during the Pandemic. We understand that this is not true for millions of people and we recognize the opportunity that God is giving us to share His love to a hurting world. Philippians 2:3-4 encourages us to look out for others interests while we take care of our own. This is a way we can share with our neighbor the love our Heavenly Father has for us and the trust that we put in Him to meet all our need. I have had my share of short-lived moments of angst when I viewed the bare shelves at the stores – knowing that they may not fill for a while. However, those moments passed quickly when God reminded me that He will supply our needs and that we need to have compassion, just a Jesus had compassion. So … His peace reigns in our house as much as a house with 8 kids can be peaceful and we press on in the work He has prepared for us to do!

Remember to reach out to us when you can and share your prayers and praises that you want us to partner in. We love to hear from you, too! Enjoy reading the newsletter.

In His service,
Scott and Sarabeth Hill and family

On the Hillside – Sharing the Journey – The End of our First Full Year in AK – September Newsletter.

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV): Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

Cold Fall Greetings,

Check out our attached newsletter!

8 degrees this morning as I write to you, our partners in ministry.  This is just the precursor to what still lies in store for this winter here in Glennallen as we shift our light coats to heavy, rubber boots to snow boots, break out the liners for gloves, pull out the gloves, cover the windows with plastic, and double check all our winter preparations.  We are so Thankful to our God for His faithfulness in taking care of all our needs over this last year of settling into the broadcast ministries of Joy Media at KCAM.  Thank you for being a part of what God is doing here!

Sarabeth and I are becoming…. becoming ….”hockey parents”!  Caleb and Ben are going to try their hand at hockey this winter and this has added a bit more to our winter preparation than we anticipated.  Pray that God would use us in this role to build more relationships in the community and that we would be on our guard to take advantage of every opportunity He provides for us to serve Him well.

Overall, the Family is doing well right now – it is a break week for school so Sarabeth can get prepared for the next quarter.  Remember to reach out to us when you can and share your prayers and praises that you want us to partner in.  We love to hear from you, too!
Enjoy reading the newsletter.

In His service,
Scott and Sarabeth Hill and family

On the Hillside – Sharing the Journey – Settling in Alaska – Newsletter edition fr. Mar. 2019.

Luke 21:36 (NASEC)

But keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.

Spring Breakup Greetings,

Our newsletter is attached!

It’s Spring and the Hills are thawing out from our first winter back up in Alaska!  We now have over 13 hours a day of daylight in Glennallen and the snow is almost completely gone.  Temperatures are a nice high 20’s to 50’s range (very nice, and not 40 below!).  It has been a very busy winter between school for the family, lots of sports to cover for KCAM, and Scott plugging away on his list of catching up, technically speaking, at the studios.  Scott has also settled into a regular Air shift on Tuesday and Thursday Noon Mid-day reports; this helps him in knowing what the technical needs are of our announcers and to fix or adapt equipment in a more relevant way.

This past week KCAM celebrated its 55th anniversary on the air (March 27).  In addition, Matthew, our oldest son, passed his written test and received a learning permit to drive!  Here we Gooooo!  Sarabeth has begun Gardening – well at least prepping the gardens and figuring out what we are going to need to do to have some vegies growing this year.

Thanks for reading our news and for communicating with us too!  We hope you enjoy it and remember to praise The Lord for what He is doing through us.  Please remember us in your prayers and Have a Happy Resurrection Celebration!  Happy Easter.

In His service,

Scott and Sarabeth Hill and family
