August Newsletter and note

August 15, 2017 - Author: Scott Hill

We are Excited!!! God has been very visibly working in our lives.  As we begin this transition to the Alaskan Field with Joy Media Ministries (, we are suddenly faced with the details of “downsizing”, packing, becoming mobile again, and reconnecting with our partners.  So, we are beginning the planning of our Home Service travels and would like to invite you to connect with us by phone call or text: (907) 320-1718; by email:; via snail mail: HCR 5 Box 310-5047, Gallup, NM 87301; or directly in person when we travel through your area.  As God has called our family He has also called those whom He desires to be partners (partakers) in this portion of His works.  In the coming weeks we will be putting together our calendar for the next 6 months and we hope to be in contact with you before we make solid plans to depart for Alaska.  As we visit with our current Partners in ministry we will also be looking for new ones to join us to help bear the burden of both the spiritual and financial needs of the ministry.  Spiritually, pray for the items on our newsletter’s front page; financially, we are looking to God to supply an additional $2,500 a month in support over the next 6 months (currently we are at about 63% of the goal of $6,500 a month).   If God is challenging you to be a committed prayer warrior or financial supporter please let us know soon.  Thank you for reading through this small note – We really are excited to see how God works it all out!

The 2017 August Newsletter is attached in PDF format – if you can’t open it and would like a text only version, please let us know.  If you would no longer like to receive our emails or need to update your email address with us please let us know.

July Note

July 20, 2017 - Author: Sarabeth Hill

Thank you for keeping us in your prayers as we traveled to Indiana on our ‘vision’ trip.  We believe God used this to contrast our other possibility and clarify our choice.  Through this and much prayer and talking to our mentors, we have decided to go to Alaska once again!  Both choices were excellent biblical ministry opportunities and have definitive needs where our skills could be used to God’s glory.  So it came down to understanding that God was giving us a choice of Serving Him where we would desire and that would be Alaska at KCAM, now under a new non-profit called Joy Media Ministries.

When Scott was informed in May that WIM leadership would like for us to end our time here by July 31st it was a surprise as Scott was hoping to be able to wrap up some engineering projects he has had sitting around waiting for the end of business management that would have taken him through at least December to complete.  However, we realize God is in control and He has determined our time here is finished, for now.  Still, our desire here is to finish well (Eph. 2:10) and honor God and give Him all the glory.  GOD is on the move!!!

KCAM is already set up to begin receipting support for us as soon as August 1st, 2017, so please PRAY about continuing your partnership with God in the ministry of Christian Radio as He moves us this fall.  YOU have been a critical part of God’s work through us and God has more than blessed us to have your prayer and financial support as we continue to serve Him wherever He tells us to go.  More details will be coming in our newsletter very soon!

May Note

May 20, 2017 - Author: Sarabeth Hill

Our desire here is to finish well the works that He prepared beforehand for us to walk in (Eph. 2:10).  It has been a struggle to get everything wrapped up in time for an exit from the business office here at Western Indian Ministries by May 31st, however, that is the goal.  Our radio stations have been plagued by several off air situations due to hardware failure, loss of all our audio files twice, and thievery.   Scott’s most recent trip to Tuba City, KTBA, to find out why it was off the air revealed that someone had broken in and stolen our battery backup out of the studio.  Praise the Lord, nothing else was taken! (Weird!).

We ask that you continue in prayer about our next steps in ministry (for wisdom and peace).  As you know, the WIM mission leadership has asked us to consider taking leave as a way of helping in the overall transition.  As we are feeling led by God to begin looking for other opportunities in ministry, we will be taking a ‘Vision’ trip eastward in June to visit Sonset Solutions technology mission in Elkhart, Indiana.  PRAY that we have safety, wisdom, understanding, open eyes, and most of all that we listen to The Spirit’s direction.

Our family is doing well overall, but not so well, as we have a ravaging cold running through our house.  Sarabeth is through the first trimester and feeling a little better.  Thank you for partnering with God at work!

April Note

April 22, 2017 - Author: Sarabeth Hill

August was the last time we included our little note to you and much has gone on in the time between.  Well, the deadline has come and gone for Scott’s full transition back into Radio engineering and he is still working on phasing out of Business Office duties.  We know that this can only be God’s doing and our desire here is to finish well the works that He prepared beforehand for us to walk in (Eph. 2:10)

We ask that you join us in prayer about our next steps in ministry (for wisdom and peace).  The mission leadership has asked for us to consider taking a sabbatical as a way of helping in the overall transition and to give us a break from the intensity of all that Scott has been involved in.  However, as we have prayed about this and seek God’s will for our ministry and family we have been feeling led to begin looking for other opportunities where Scott would be able to fully utilize the technical skills God has given him. Two possibilities have surfaced, but no definitive answer from God as of yet – which is good, otherwise it might be too much of a distraction from finishing well.

Our baby – Thomas – turned One year old this month!  Pray for Sarabeth and kids as Scott travels to the NAB radio conference April 21st-25th.  Happy Resurrection day, He IS Risen!  Thank you for partnering with God at work here in New Mexico!
