1) Choose Window > Templates.
2) In the Templates palette, double-click
the template.
3) In the document window, select
an item in the template you want to modify. The Property inspector
displays properties for the selected object, including the filename.
4) To create a new object in the
template, click or drag an object from the Object palette into
the document window.

5) To define a new object as an
editable region, select the object and choose Modify > Templates > Mark
Selection as Editable. Enter a name for the region in the New Editable
Region dialog box, and click OK.
Note: The following characters are not
valid for region names: ampersands (&), angle brackets (<>),
apostrophes (`), and quotation marks (").
6) To lock an editable region, choose
Modify > Templates > Unmark Editable Region. Select the name
of the region you want to lock in the Unmark Editable Region dialog
box, and click OK.

7) Save the template file.
8) If the template has been applied
to documents in the site, choose an option in the dialog box:
