Psalm 107:22 (NASEC)

Let them also offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, And tell of His works with joyful singing.

November Greetings,

October was a very full month for the Hill family!  There was unpacking, setting up home and house, learning Alaska culture again, two trips into Anchorage to stock up, Sharathon at the Radio Station, Home school starting, and seeing God work through it all! It was topped off this Sunday evening, November 4th, with a spectacular view of the “northern lights” in the 20 below zero.  They stretch from one end of the sky to the other in their typical green hues with tints of red, and then all of a sudden they burst forth in waves, dancing to unheard music, in brilliant red, green, white, and tints of blue.  It was truly a demonstration of God’s handiwork!

This Friday, we are looking forward to greeting a work team coming up from our church in Manley, Nebraska, and we hope that God will give them a show like He did for us tonight.  They will be here a few days to help with the cabin construction for Michelle Eastty.  We have seen much progress on this building project, including getting heat installed this past Saturday.  The kids are excited too, because Grandma and Grandpa Eaton are on the work team and will be staying with us while they are here.

Scott has been able to address some of the many issues on the list that KCAM had ready for him and he has added a few more things to the list as well.  Sometimes you can’t fix what is broken without first fully breaking it and understanding why it was broken in the first place.  “Little technical fires” are slowly being put out as he has time to work on them while he settles into his job.  Praise the Lord that Scott was able to “resurrect” the Bomgar remote access appliance this last week!  This will help all the staff in being able to have remote access from home or on the road when they are “on call”.  Please pray for a new situation that has occurred – our tower’s top beacon light has shorted out and will need replacing and climbing the tower in these cold temperatures can be dangerous for the crew we get to replace it.

October was also a Birthday month in our family, Lydia turned 14 on the 19th and Scott celebrated with his nephew Kyle Hatfield on the 29th.  Well, actually we celebrated the birthday on Saturday, the 27th, since we were in Soldotna to pick up the Suburban that Uncle James drove up to Alaska for us.

Thank you for being a part of what God is doing in our lives as we serve Him here in Alaska, we are grateful to our God for the team He has called together to help KCAM stay on the air broadcasting the Good News to the Copper River Valley.  Let us hear from your world in how God is answering prayer and working in your lives.

In His service,

Scott and Sarabeth Hill and family

Journal Entry 10/2/2018 – Together on the Journey – Alaska Arrival and settling in

October 2, 2018 - Author: Editor

Matthew 6:31 (NASEC)
[31] “Do not worry then, ….. for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.[33] “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
[34] “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Greetings from Glennallen, Alaska,

3,838 miles traveled with – no flat tires, no engine trouble, no delays at the borders, good weather for driving, and A God who blessed our socks off!  The verses above are good reminders not to worry about anything that we “need” because we have a God that KNOWS!  Therefore, if we know that He knows, we are free to seek His kingdom.  Thank you for your many prayers and support that helped to make the trip possible and the mission field attainable.

We hit the ground running from our arrival on the evening of Thursday, September 27…unpacking the trailers in a day and a half and then getting everything set up and figuring out what was still needed over the next few days.  At the same time, we were working on establishing utilities, getting driver’s licenses and plates, planning a trip to Anchorage, and attending the first night of Awana on Wednesday.  Seven days later, Thursday, we were off to Anchorage for our first stocking up trip that ended up being 4 days long, ugh!  It is nice to know that God knew already what we needed and had things already planned.

Today, Tuesday Oct. 2, was Scott’s first official day at KCAM!  It is Sharathon time at the radio stations next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, so he is getting familiar with how things work and flow in the studios so he can take some shifts on air during the fundraiser.  Many engineering tasks need some immediate attention as well, so his time will not be idly spent.  Today, as well, Sarabeth baked the first loaves of bread in our humble abode!  This has filled the air with wonderful smells as she is creating our home and settling us in.

Please remember our prayer requests here and to send us your prayer requests as well.  Pray for Sharathon – that it would, first, Glorify God and the work that He is doing; second, that we would meet the goal; and third, that we would have a wonderful time of outreach and fellowship with our listeners!  Please pray for Sarabeth as she finishes settling in and begins a new school year with the kids.  PRAISE the LORD for His great provision and care for us on the many miles traveled and for giving us a home to be in out of the cold.

THANK YOU FOR SHARING THE JOURNEY!

In His service,
Scott and Sarabeth Hill and family

Journal Entry 9/17/18 – Together on the Journey – A Quick Update

And my God will (DID!) supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19

Canadian Greetings,

What an awesome God we serve!  Thank you for your prayers as we travel the long road to Alaska.  We thought we would be able to slow down just a bit and spend some time camping along the way, but the temperatures and weather have already dropped below tolerance, especially for our youngest.  So our timetable has been adjusted accordingly…we entered Canada yesterday without a glitch, currently in Lethbridge.  Praise the Lord for an inexpensive hotel with a waterpark!  Since we are not going to be camping as much as we had planned, the expenses of travel are going to be a little bit higher so if anyone is willing to help with filling up our outgoing expenses account, it will be much appreciated.  Last we knew, we were $2500 short of the goal.

Our schedule now will, Lord willing, put us into Glennallen 4 days earlier than we expected, arriving on Thursday September 20.  Thank you for remembering us in prayer for safety in travel – especially through the snow that is already falling in Canada.

By the way, we had a wonderful time in Carey Idaho visiting our church there that we had not seen for 16 years.  It was truly a blessing from God that we could fellowship with His family there, somewhat like the future of all believers!

In His service,

Scott and Sarabeth Hill and family
